Each
Power Commander unit comes with a built-in microprocessor
and is supplied with a specific map design to
improve performance over stock. This unit allows fine tuning
of your fuel-injected bike when changing the air filter,
exhaust system or doing additional engine performance modifications.
A software package and a computer link
cable which allows you to fully map the fuel and ignition curve
are also included (Windows 95/98–2000 is required).
If you do not have a computer, you can change the settings with three
touch buttons on the faceplate. No wiring
modifications required; OEM-style connectors are supplied,
and it includes easy to follow instructions. The Power
Commander II utilizes sensor offset technology to adjust
the fuel curve; it allows both fuel and ignition adjustment.
The Power Commander III is externally similar to
the PCII but utilizes direct injector control technology to
control the fuel curve for models that do not possess the
appropriate sensors to allow sufficient fuel adjustment using
PCII technology; it allows fuel-only adjustment. The
Power
Commander IIIr utilizes the same direct injector control
technology as the PCIII; it allows both fuel and ignition
adjustments and is for racing applications.
